About the job

You will join a growing AI team of 10 colleagues with a core mission to turn data and AI into measurable business value. Your primary role is to build AI-driven internal applications in a young scaleup.

Many of our projects enhance the already extremely efficient sales and operational engine that is Flatpay. For this we are opponents of stand alone notebooks and proponents of interactive applications that drive insights and recommendations, help colleagues take action, give feedback, and write information back into our systems.

This role is at the heart of this, and a good fit for someone who enjoys frontend development, has a solid foundation in Python and data, and wants to build AI application that real people actually use.

What you'll do

• Frontend: Create user-facing internal applications using React and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Take part in shaping reusable frontend components, UX patterns, and a design system for internal AI applications.
• Backend: Work with Python, SQL, and APIs to connect the frontend with data and AI logic.
• Talk to users and stakeholders to understand what they need and how a tool should support their work.
• Collaborate closely with data engineers and data scientists to make sure tools are based on solid data and model logic.
• As the role evolves, you may also contribute to data science tasks such as analysis, experimentation, feature development, or model development.
• The applications will mainly be built in Databricks - Databricks Apps.

Who you are

• You have around 2–4 years of experience in a technical role and are especially interested in frontend development for data and AI products.
• You have experience with React, TypeScript and Tailwind CSS,.
• You have a solid foundation in Python.
• You are comfortable working with SQL and structured data.
• You have hands-on experience with data science or machine learning problems, such as classification, regression, model evaluation, or LLM-based extraction. This can be from work, studies, internships, or hands-on projects.
• You care about making complex information simple, understandable, and useful.
• You care about writing code that is reusable, understandable, and easy for others to build on.
• You are curious, pragmatic, and comfortable turning unclear problems into practical solutions.
• You are comfortable managing your own time and tasks across multiple projects simultaneously.

Nice to have
You do not need to have experience with everything below. These are examples of things that could be helpful in the role:

• FastAPI or similar Python backend frameworks.
• Databricks or similar data platforms.
• Experience with LLMs, AI assistants, recommendation systems, or other AI-powered products.
