About the role:

The Frontend Engineer is responsible for implementing the digital brand face to the customer. The role is executing the integration of front-end code and technologies for websites and online shops. By adhering to global coding standards, this role is focusing on ensuring effective communication through websites on a global scale. The ideal candidate has in-depth knowledge of front-end technologies and can implement a seamless user experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Create best-in-class frontend development for global Miele websites and online shops, with strong attention to detail, accessibility standards, and a deep understanding of frontend technologies.
  • Develop and revise frontend code to enhance Miele’s website performance.
  • Optimize coding, review, and documentation processes across all websites and teams.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to ensure high-quality and accessible implementation of new features.
  • Actively contribute to Scrum events such as refinements, providing structured input and solutions.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects aimed at increasing global website turnover.

What success will look like in two years:

  • The migration to Nuxt 4 is fully completed, resulting in a faster, more scalable, and maintainable frontend architecture.
  • All key user journeys are optimized for performance, accessibility, and security, consistently meeting global standards.
  • The engineer is a trusted contributor in cross-functional teams, actively shaping solutions and driving agile delivery.
  • There is clear ownership of frontend architecture and user flows, with proactive improvements and innovations introduced regularly.
  • Automated testing and analytics are embedded in the development process, supporting data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.

What we are looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Expert understanding of core front-end web technologies: JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • 5+ years of professional experience with JavaScript frameworks and libraries, preferably Vue.js and Nuxt.js.
  • Strong grasp of modern front-end architecture principles and design patterns.
  • Experience writing unit and integration tests, and implementing automated end-to-end testing using Playwright.
  • Deep understanding of accessibility (A11y) standards and their practical implementation.
  • Familiarity with data-driven development practices, including analytics and A/B testing.
  • Passion for solving technical challenges and building customer-centric solutions.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and working knowledge of DevOps principles.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to communicate clearly in fluent English, both written and verbal.
  • (Bonus) Solid understanding of session and authentication management in frontendapplications. Experience implementing secure authentication mechanisms and protecting sensitive data inalignment with OWASP frontend security best practices.
