Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

As a Front Office Receptionist, I will assume full responsibility for the efficient operation in the following:

  • Greet guests on arrival, especially our Chinese-speaking guests, and conduct check-in and registration procedures in an efficient and friendly manner, using guest names whenever possible.
  • Utilize my fluency in Mandarin Chinese to provide a seamless, personalized, and culturally attentive welcome experience.
  • Possess knowledge of room rates and suggest upselling when necessary, effectively communicating options to Chinese-speaking guests.
  • Ascertain guest satisfaction, collect keys, ensure that all guest billing procedures are handled correctly, minimize rebates during check-out, and bid guests farewell in a manner that resonates with their cultural background.
  • Maintain a balanced bank assigned by the hotel. Make change, cash checks, and exchange foreign currency, including the Chinese Renminbi (RMB). Reconcile all transactions at the close of each shift.
  • Maintain efficient administration within the department, preparing and submitting operational reports on time.
  • Conduct procedures involved in the provision of guest in-room amenities, ensuring preferences for our Chinese guests are noted and acted upon.
  • Ensure all equipment in the department is kept clean and in good working condition.
  • Uphold Six Senses guidelines and standards of service and operation. My performance benchmarks are maintained and exceeded.
  • Strictly adhere to LQA standards and proactively address guest comments, with a particular focus on feedback from our Chinese clientele.

Qualifications

To execute the position of Front Office Receptionist, I must have the required qualifications, technical skills, and experience in a similar role in luxury hotels with proven results and includes the following:

  • Saudi National, in alignment with the Vision 2030 Saudization program.
  • High school diploma or equivalent and at least 1-year experience in a similar hotel operational setting. A hospitality diploma/degree from a recognized hospitality school is preferred.
  • Technical skills include MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. I am also familiar with various hotel systems including POS, PMS, and CRM platforms.
  • Must be fluent in both Mandarin Chinese and English. The ability to read and write Simplified Chinese is a significant advantage.
  • A deep understanding of Chinese culture and customs to provide exceptional, nuanced service to guests from China.
