The Front Office Manager will:

  • Report to duty punctually wearing the correct uniform, clean and well pressed, according to the grooming standards of the hotel.
  • Manage the Front Office Department within budgetary guidelines.
  • Prepare and control the duty roster for the Front Office guaranteeing quality as well as considering the highest personnel cost efficiency while effectively managing staff holidays and lieu days.
  • Oversee all labour cost controls within budget limits and occupancy variances to maximize productivity.
  • Together with HR conduct interviews with future employees.
  • Train and induct new F.O. staff members.
  • Identify training needs, develop and manage performance.
  • Approve training plan of all Front Office sub-departments and follow-up to ensure compliance and efficiency of training activities.
  • Supervise all Reception and Concierge operational tasks.
  • Check in the arriving guests and check out the departing guests in a friendly and caring manner according to the standards.
  • Handle customers’ complaints and take corrective action.
  • Assist guests in their requests and answer all their emails or phone calls.
  • Re-evaluate work flows to improve and optimise organisation.
  • Implement and evaluate procedures and policies; verify adherence to operating standards.
  • Encourage upselling.
  • Check room assignement, arriving and departing rooms daily.
  • Detailed hotel product knowledge, up-to-date with arrivals & events within the hotel and the destination.
  • Conduct daily walk throughs to ensure quality standards and to maintain high visibility with guests and employees
  • Conduct appraisal of the team members.
  • Attend and contribute to morning meetings and operational meetings and share latest information with the team.
  • To carry out Duty Manager functions when required.
  • Perform site inspections for both guests and external visitors.
  • Provide all the reports as requested by hotel management/Corporate Office.
  • Verify and sign purchase orders for Front Office.
