This position is located in Athens at the main location of Oconee Heart & Vascular Center. The front office assistant is responsible for greeting and assisting patients and visitors, scheduling patient appointments securing accurate demographics and insurance information, insurance verification, checking patient in and out, collecting copays and previous balance collections, answering calls and assisting or routing the caller to the appropriate person, maintaining provider schedules and providing the patient with information needed and check-out. Must be familiar with insurance rules and billing practices in order to assist patients with questions. This position requires excellent customer service skills.
Requirements:
High school graduate or GED equivalent required
Minimum of 1 year front office and/or medical records experience in physician office or similar setting required
Must be able to use a computer and be familiar with Medical Office programs including EMR systems
