Job Description

We're accepting applications now and will begin active recruitment in September 2026.

Altea is Canada's premier fitness and wellness destination. Multiple boutique studios, modern recovery, and lifestyle amenities, all under one roof, for one membership. We bring together the quality of a standalone boutique with the breadth of a full service club, and we deliver an experience that members build their week around. We are the membership members actually use. Everything we do is designed to deliver a premium member experience.

The Front of House Supervisor sets the tone for every single visit. You lead the team that greets members by name, resolves concerns before they become complaints, and holds the hospitality standard across the front desk, recovery services, and the ProShop where applicable. This is not a role about managing a desk. It is about managing an experience, and doing it with the presence and consistency that makes members feel genuinely taken care of, every time they walk in.

If you have led a front facing team in a premium environment and found yourself raising the bar even when no one was watching, this role was built for you.

WHAT YOU'LL LEAD
  • Your Team. You lead, develop, and schedule the front of house team. You set the standard through how you show up. Your team's hospitality is a direct reflection of your coaching.
  • The Member Experience. Every arrival, every interaction, every concern that comes through your area is an opportunity to reinforce why members chose Altea. You protect that experience without micromanaging it.
  • Front Desk, Recovery, and ProShop. You own the operational backbone of the member facing floor. Check ins, recovery services, ProShop where applicable, scheduling, and daily procedures. You run them with precision.
  • Service Recovery. When something goes wrong, you are the person who makes it right. Quickly, professionally, and in a way that leaves the member feeling more loyal than before.
  • The Standard. Presentation, cleanliness, team conduct, and communication. These are not things you audit periodically. They are things you live every shift.
WHO YOU ARE

You are not here to manage a schedule and answer emails. You are here to lead a team that makes every member feel like the most important person in the building.

  • You lead from the floor. Visible, approachable, and present. Your team knows what the standard looks like because they see you living it on every shift.
  • You are people smart in a way that shows. You read a member's energy before they say a word. You know when someone on your team is having a hard day before they tell you.
  • You do not wait for a complaint to act. You notice the lineup at check in and you step in. You see a new member looking uncertain and you introduce yourself.
  • You hold the standard without being reminded. Uniform, tone, desk organization, recovery presentation. Non-negotiable to you because you understand what they communicate.
  • You develop people as part of how you lead. You give honest feedback, you coach in the moment, and you invest in the growth of the people on your team.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in a supervisory or team lead role in a premium hospitality, fitness, or service environment
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a front facing team and hold a high service standard across varied conditions
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills. You handle difficult conversations with composure and care
  • Experience with scheduling, front desk operations, and membership or reservation management systems
  • Familiarity with recovery services or retail operations is an asset
  • Valid Standard First Aid and CPR-C, maintained annually (employer paid)
  • Criminal Background Check required prior to commencement

WHAT YOU'LL EARN

This is a full-time salaried role compensated at a level that reflects the standard we hold. All rates of pay are confidential. Beyond base salary, you will receive group health benefits, a complimentary Altea membership, a Plus One membership, an extensive vacation package plus paid Flex days, and Maternity and Paternity leave top-up.

SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

Your team is consistent in how they show up, how they communicate, and how they make members feel. Recovery services and the ProShop run at standard. Service recovery is fast and leaves members satisfied. Members know your name and your team's name. The standard holds on the shifts you are not there for, because of the culture you built on the ones you were.

We are an equal opportunity employer and believe in treating everyone fairly regardless of race, ancestry, place of origin, colour, ethnic origin, national origin, language, citizenship, creed, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, marital status, gender identity, gender expression, record of offences, disability, or any other legally protected factors. Accommodations are available upon request.
