We are looking for a Front of House Assistant to join The Bothy’s restaurant team at Dean's Garden Centre, in York

Your goal will be to provide a warm welcome to all our restaurant visitors and do everything you can to make their trip a memorable one. You will be responsible for ensuring customers are served quickly and accurately, operating the tills, ensuring the restaurant area is impeccably clean and supporting the team with whatever is needed to help create a great working environment.

Position 2 will be working the following shifts:

Week 1: Tuesday 8am-2pm, Wednesday 9am-3pm

Week 2: Monday 10am-2:30pm, Wednesday 10am-2:30pm, Saturday 8am-2pm, Sunday 8am-2pm

Average total hours = 16.5 hours per week

It is a very demanding role so you must be comfortable working fast and being on your feet a lot of the time.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Front of House Assistant, your role includes but is not limited to these duties:

• Welcoming and seating customers

• Taking customer orders

• Assist with menu and beverage recommendations

• Preparing and serving beverage and food orders

• Setting tables

• Cash handling

• Handle customer complaints and resolve issues in a timely manner

• Cleaning tables and removing used cutlery

• Communicating effectively with the kitchen and staff members

• Reporting to shifts on time in impeccable uniform.

Skills Knowledge and Expertise:

Ideally, we are looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience working in a catering environment – (preferable but not mandatory).

• Friendly and sociable.

• Good attention to detail

• Willingness to learn new skills

• Is flexible to work additional shifts and weekends if required

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Knowledge of restaurant procedures
