Salary Range: $18.13 - $25.38 Hourly

Position Overview:
Oversees the daily operations and coordination of the daily activities of the Front End Department and its staff.  Efficiently completes daily pick procedures, department opening and closing procedures, and daily deposits as scheduled or required.  Demonstrates exceptional level of customer service and ensures that staff delivers expected performance.  Exhibits and ensures a high level of productivity within the Front End Department.   Operates cash register to itemize and total customers’ purchases as needed or requested.  Exceeds in Customer Service Specialist duties.  Ability to multi-task and handle stress with a calm and professional demeanor during high volume periods within department and store.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Assists cashiers with register transactions
- Demonstrates and enforces proper cleaning and maintenance of the register and front end area
- Completes money buying procedure from safe for cashier drawers efficiently
- Has full knowledge of the policies and penalties in regards to the sale Alcoholic beverages
- - Ensures the following of State and Federal regulations for sales of these products accordingly
- Completes daily picks/deposits and cash lifts/deposits efficiently
- Able to answer questions in regards to membership within the Co-op and educates staff on membership to enhance member growth
- Oversees Front End break procedures, ensuring that staff receives lunches and breaks, completing this procedure in a timely and efficient manner
- Is proficient in the End of Day process and can assist cashiers as needed or requested
- Effectively enters necessary data into the main computer system
- Efficiently completes the opening and closing procedures on the front end
- Able to assist cashiers in register procedures, making approval on transactions as needed or requested
- Can effectively and efficiently make daily schedule adjustments for call-ins
- Is familiar with the Co-op alarm system and closing procedures
- - Follows appropriate steps when handling
- Performs Manager on Duty responsibilities efficiently
- Demonstrates and enforces safe and secure money handling procedures with department, according to store policies
- Enforce proper procedure in handling paperwork
- Complete all required department and Co-op training
- Has knowledge and training of phone system- knows how to answer, page, and transfer properly
- Serves as a mentor to new staff in the department (for those with more years of experience)
- Re-trains staff as needed or requested, following set training program
- Checks Co-op email at least once per week
- Sets standard for expected behavior in adhering to all food safety procedures
- Adheres to all Co-op policies, procedures and employee code of conduct
- Other duties as assigned

QualificationsRequired Skills/Experience and Attributes:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2 years’ cashier experience
- Excellent communications and organizational skills required
- Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. comfortably on a regular basis
- Set an excellent example for new employees
- Proficiency in use of computer software, Office 365, Excel and Word
- Successful completion of Co-op customer service training
- Serve Safe certification acquired as needed
- Excellent follow through
Equipment Used:
Computer register, scanner, adding machines, computer, knives, box cutters, U-boats, carts, and phone system.
Attendance Requirements:
Flexible hours, including weekend and evening shifts.  Availability to be scheduled to work any day of the week, according to department needs.
The salary range for this position is $18.13 to $25.38. This range represents the full earning potential for the role as skills and tenure grow. The expected hiring range is $18.90 to $21.00, which supports internal equity and aligns with current budget parameters, while preserving opportunity for future increases
