We are looking for a Front End Development Manager to lead the design, development, and evolution of our front-end applications across multiple web-based products. You will play a key role in shaping front-end architecture, ensuring high-quality user experiences, and driving consistency, scalability, and performance across our digital platforms. This role requires a strong front-end background; experience in backend or full-stack development is considered a plus, but not required.

This position is based in Bergen, Norway, with a hybrid work setup, requiring 3 days per week in the office, with Wednesday as the common team day.

Our Tech Stack:

  • Core Front-End: Angular, Ionic (mobile), TypeScript, REST API integration, responsive UI development
  • Core Back-End: C#, .NET, RESTful APIs, authentication services, data pipeline development
  • Data & Storage: PostgreSQL (primary), Microsoft SQL Server (currently in use, migrating to PostgreSQL)
  • Cloud & DevOps: AWS, Docker/Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, production monitoring
  • Integrations & Services REST APIs, including AI-powered features

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own the front-end architecture and technical direction across multiple web applications in the media and broadcast space.
  • Lead the development and ongoing maintenance of large-scale, production-grade web platforms.
  • Provide technical leadership and hands-on guidance to the front-end team, contributing to development, debugging, and complex problem-solving as needed.
  • Manage and support a team of front-end developers, including performance management, feedback, and professional development.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to deliver scalable, user-focused features.
  • Drive improvements in performance, scalability, reliability, and overall user experience.
  • Ensure consistency of front-end architecture, patterns, and practices across applications.
  • Design and maintain shared UI component libraries and design systems.
  • Define and enforce front-end engineering standards and best practices.
  • Partner with QA to improve test coverage, automation, and release quality.
  • Guide the adoption of AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity.
  • Proactively identify and reduce technical debt across systems.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • At least 8+ years of experience in front-end development, with a strong track record of building and maintaining large-scale web applications.
  • Prior experience leading or managing front-end development teams

Salary Range: MIN 842,952.00 -- MAX 1,264,428.00 NOK/Annual
