of Duties:

Duties

Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Answering phones, scheduling appointments, running errands, typing, filing, distributing mail, directing students to sign in, and opening and closing the office.
  • Actively participating in all trainings and weekly staff meetings.
  • Referring students to services for any challenges identified during contact.
  • Having the ability to work flexible hours, including some required evenings and weekends.
  • Participating in student panels and presentations to large groups.
  • Assisting Peer Coaches and/or other student employees in planning and facilitating workshops, cultural activities and monthly group activities.
  • Facilitating or assisting in planning large group activities.
  • Assist in development of newsletter, student spotlight and other media content.
  • Possessing the ability to speak to large groups.
  • Performing other duties as prescribed by your immediate supervisor.
  • 10-20 hrs/wk

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Be in good standing with a 2.50 GPA or above preferred.
  2. Above average communication skills.
  3. Ability to articulate and disseminate detailed information.
  4. Ability to relate to current/former foster youth and former unaccompanied homeless student needs.
  5. Knowledge of PATH Scholars philosophy and goals.

Exceptions to the minimum eligibility qualifications may be granted at the sole discretion of the University.

Additional Information:

All work must be performed within the State of California.

Compliance training completion (approx. 4 hours of work time) is required of this position within the first 30 days of work.

The person holding this position may be considered a ‘mandated reporter’ under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU.
