Summary
The primary job of the Front Desk is to exceed patient expectations for outstanding customer service while creating a warm and caring environment. Front Desk are key players in the delivery of quality patient care which leads to great first and last impression to all our patients. Additionally, the Front Desk is expected to cover any callouts, PTO’s or absences, which might require traveling to another site as well as schedule changes to work at least one Saturday a month depending on clinical need. They may also be required from time to time to support in training new FDs, track their progress and report findings/progress/areas of improvement with clinic manager.
This is a Full-Time position, working Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day. The hourly range for the Front Desk position is $23.00 - 25.01+. The hourly rate will be dependent on experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
Appointment System Management
- Use of eClinicalWorks computerized patient management system including booking appointments, entering new patient information into the system and uploading scanned documents into individual patient records
- Knowledgeable of services provided and required paperwork for each patient
- Monitoring and updating patient status throughout the day
- Attend all necessary trainings for all required updates and/or system upgrades
Managing Reception Area
- Ensures high standard of customer care at all times
- Has strong communication skills
- Greets all patients and visitors in person or on the telephone with professionalism and answers patients questions
- Responsible for pre-booking appointments in person or on the phone
- Completes appointment reminders a day before to decrease no-show rate and offers to reschedule any cancelations
- Optimizes patients' experience and provider time by monitoring schedules daily
- Processes and collects patient payments and provides receipt
- Maintains updates patient records by confirming patients demographics including financial information
- Enforces all health and safety regulations including the protection of patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
- Follows policies and procedures
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS
- High school graduate or its equivalency;
- Experience in medical front office procedures preferred and knowledge of medical terminology;
- Ability to always demonstrate the highest level of performance and behavior standards;
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to effectively and respectfully handle dissatisfied patients;
- Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and flexible;
- Knowledge of standard office machines including copier, fax, multi-line telephone, printers, etc.;
- Ability to be a team player; support and assist team members.
