Our hotel

The Balmoral is located at Edinburgh’s most prestigious address, No. 1 Princes Street, where the Old Town stops and the New Town begins. Our hotel’s majestic clock defines the city’s skyline, and since the day we opened in 1902, it has run three minutes fast to ensure our guests will never miss their train.

Your key responsibilities

Rocco Forte Hotels are a collection of iconic hotels that respect the individuality of location and its team members, encouraging them to be their natural selves while providing a local, authentic experience to our guests.

As a valued part of the Forte family, you will:

  • Be the friendly, confident face behind our reception desk

  • Offer our guests a warm, intuitive, and personalised greeting

  • Oversee daily front desk operations, including guest check-ins, check-outs

  • Work closely with all departments to create a seamless and unique experience for our guests

  • Provide training and support for the front desk team members to ensure they are knowledgeable and efficient

  • Be knowledgeable of the hotel and our products

  • Ensure compliance with hotel policies, procedures, and safety standards

  • Proven experience as a Front Desk Supervisor or Manager in a luxury or 5-star hotel environment

  • Strong leadership and team management skills

  • Proficiency in property management systems (e.g., Opera)

  • A warm, polished, and professional demeanor

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings
