The Front Desk Coordinator is responsible for reception, scheduling of patients, precertification, insurance verification, charge entry and daily reconciliations. Takes Ownership and responds positively to resolve concerns and improves quality. Other office duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Scheduling for wound care visit, utilizing hospital software / systems as well as Wound Center’s EMR system
  • Booking appointments appropriately based on time, staffing, equipment and supplies
  • Cross reference will be made to physicians’ credentials for specialty and delineation of privileges and also for a list of procedures approved for the wound care center
  • Registration to be accomplished and in accordance with hospital policy and software / systems requirements as well as Wound Center’s EMR system
  • All registration information to be confirmed with the patient and or responsible party
  • Insurance and financial information provided by related hospital departments then needs to be entered into Wound Center EMR
  • Verify specific insurance benefits and obtain pre-authorization for wound care procedures
  • Patient visit charge information to be provided by wound center personnel and provided to the respective billing and finance departments or entered directly into hospital charge entry systems in accordance with hospital policies and acceptable standards
  • Perform daily patient schedule: charge entry reconciliations and account for all outstanding bills
  • Maintains patient privacy per HIPAA regulations
  • Practices effective conflict resolution
  • Responds by telephone in a courteous and professional manner
  • Takes ownership and responds positively to address mistakes and resolve complaints and improve quality
  • All other duties assigned.

Required Qualifications

Education and Training

  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years front desk medical office experience and computer proficiency required.
  • Patient scheduling and insurance verification experience strongly preferred.
  • Must have courteous and professional customer service skills

Work Shift Details:

Days - Variable weekday and weekend, Primary hours 8-4:30PM, though subject to change to meet the needs of the department including evening and weekends hours.

The final pay rate offered may be more than the posted range based on several factors including but not limited to: licensure, certifications, work experience, education, knowledge, demonstrated abilities, internal equity, market data, and more.

The expected pay for this position is listed below:

$19.45 - $24.32
