Job Description

Goodwill Industries of Kentucky is looking for an energetic, self-motivated, detail-oriented Front Desk Attendant to join our team! The Front Desk Attendant is the first point of contact for the South Louisville Opportunity Center.

Goodwill’s Mission is to connect Kentucky job seekers with the resources and services they need to find and maintain long-term employment and a career path. We serve Kentuckians who have disabilities or experience other challenges finding success in the workforce, such as criminal backgrounds, language barriers, limited education, lack of transportation and chronic poverty.

Essential Job Functions

  • Ensure the front desk is staffed and covered during all business hours.
  • Greet and welcome staff, clients, community partners, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Provide administrative and clerical support to ensure efficient daily operations.
  • Operate the telephone system, answer inquiries, and direct calls appropriately while maintaining a positive and helpful customer experience.
  • Address concerns and complaints by listening attentively, demonstrating empathy, and referring individuals to the appropriate staff member for assistance.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional reception area.
  • Support various departments as needed and collaborate with team members to complete assignments and projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate professionalism and the ability to create a positive first impression when interacting with staff, clients, visitors, and community partners.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to work effectively with diverse individuals.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrate the ability to follow instructions, prioritize and organize work, collaborate with others, and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to remain seated for extended periods, with occasional walking, standing, and lifting of up to 10 pounds.
  • Maintain reliable transportation to and from work.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Training or coursework in business administration, office management, or business communications preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel preferred.
  • Previous experience in reception, administrative support, customer service, or a related role preferred.
  • Bilingual is a plus
