Job Title: Front Desk Assistant/Receptionist

Location: 501 Oak Avenue, Waynesboro, VA 22980

Days Worked: PRN (As Needed).

Shift Start Time & End Time: Day Shift & Night Shift Opportunities Available.

& General Responsibilities:

Join the Summit Square team as a part-time Receptionist Assistant and be the friendly face that makes a lasting first impression! In this vital role, you’ll ensure our residents, families, visitors, and team members feel valued from the moment they arrive. With a focus on exceptional customer service, you'll greet guests with warmth, direct them with care, and provide accurate, prompt information to callers.   • Consistently project a professional image of Summit Square
  • Answer incoming calls promptly, courteously, and accurately.
  • Take and forward messages, ensuring timely delivery, especially for emergency notifications.
  • Greet visitors and guests with warmth and sincerity, providing helpful and accurate information.
  • Communicate thoroughly and offer assistance to visitors, residents, etc.
  • Perform requested administrative tasks for other departments efficiently and accurately, maintaining knowledge of copy machine functions.
  • Sell stamps, movie tickets, meal tickets, and copies to residents and staff, handling transactions and collecting payments.
  • Manage monetary transactions for items and guest accommodations, ensuring accuracy and providing change.
  • Sign out keys for campus locations as needed and maintain accurate records.
  • Keep the reception area neat and welcoming at all times.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Prior work experience in the long-term care industry or working with older adults preferred.
  • Ability to work with confidential information and maintain its’ integrity.
  • Ability to process information accurately, make appropriate decisions and take appropriate action based upon the information available.
  • Sincere interest in working with the elderly.
  • Be creative, positive, energetic, organized and patient.
  • Strong customer service skills; maintain a hospitality approach when engaging all individuals.

Physical & Environmental Considerations:

  • This job operates in an environment with activity rooms and office space with normal lighting levels, temperature ranges, air quality, ventilation and noise levels. Special events, temperatures vary with the season and location.
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • The employee is frequently required to sit for long periods. Additionally, employee will routinely sit, stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 30 lbs or less and occasionally more than 40 lbs. The position requires manual dexterity, auditory and visual skills, and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
  • General hazards related to operation and maintenance of office equipment. Minimal hazards if universal precautions are followed.
