Organization: The Grief Center
Location: 4125 Carlisle Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87107
An Off-Campus Work-Study Position - MUST have a Work-Study Award
Position Purpose:
Provide general administrative assistance to staff at The Grief Center (TGC) and the Center for Hope and Healing. This will include but is not limited to staffing the front desk and answering phones, copying, filing, light pickup, general administration support and other duties as assigned.
This position requires an organized individual who demonstrates an ability to follow detailed instructions, demonstrates attention to detail, and possesses excellent time management skills.
Essential
Duties
Greet and screen visitors with grace and courtesy.
Direct tenant clients to the Wellness Suite waiting area and/or announce them to the tenant as per their preferred method.
Notify appropriate TGC staff of visitors and either have them wait in the lobby or escort them to the appropriate staff member’s office.
Answer and screen telephone calls, forwarding calls or taking messages as appropriate.
Receive deliveries and forward all materials delivered to the appropriate staff member in a timely manner.
Assist the TGC staff with copies, communication (phone calls, emails), workflow, data entry or other duties as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized reception area, including wiping countertops, tables, door handles, glass and door at least weekly or more often as needed.
Support TGC events with registration, sign-in sheets, and set-up/clean-up, as needed.
Support the Executive Director and Administrative Manager with tasks assigned.
Other duties as assigned.

Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing

Standard office equipment (phone, fax, copier, scanner, voice mail, email)
Education Level:
Work Study position through the University of New Mexico. Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours in the fall and 6 credit hours in the spring at the University of New Mexico.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL
REQUIREMENTS
Physical requirements include walking, standing,
sitting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, and reaching. The workplace requires use of a computer
and standard office equipment. Required to lift or move up to 25 pounds
unassisted and 26+ assisted.
