About the Role:
York Prep School is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable French Teacher to teach up to four sections of High School French across grades 9-12. Reporting to the Director of Curriculum and Instruction for Humanities, you will create engaging lessons that develop students' fluency, confidence, and appreciation of French language and culture. You'll design and deliver a curriculum that balances grammar and vocabulary development, speaking practice, and cultural studies, while incorporating meaningful connections to social justice and identity. Beyond the classroom, you'll contribute to the wider life of the school through faculty responsibilities and participation in student activities, such as advising a club, coaching a sport, facilitating a Scholars class, or supporting other extracurricular opportunities. Working collaboratively with colleagues, you'll help foster a welcoming and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.

Who We Are Looking For:
We are seeking an enthusiastic educator who is fluent in written and spoken French, preferably a native speaker, and who is passionate about working with high school students. You will have:

•A bachelor's degree in French, French Education, or a related field (master's degree preferred).
•Strong knowledge of current world language teaching methodologies.
•Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
•Experience differentiating instruction to support diverse learners.
•Confidence using educational technology and assessment data to inform teaching.
•A collaborative approach and commitment to culturally responsive pedagogy.
•A strong commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student wellbeing.
•Alignment with the mission, values, and safeguarding principles of York Prep School.
