We are seeking a Freight Screening Officer for a high-trust aviation security role across Western Australia. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that all air freight entering the aviation network meets strict safety and compliance standards.

About the Role

Step into a specialised aviation security role where your actions directly protect Australia’s air cargo network.

As a Freight Screening Officer, you will work across multiple WA locations, screening cargo to the highest regulatory standards before it enters the aviation network. You will operate in independent and often remote or semi-remote environments, requiring accountability, vigilance and professionalism at all times.

Position Details

• Location: Western Australia (multiple sites)
• Employment Type: Full-Time Contract
• Work Environment: FIFO / remote & semi-remote operations

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct freight screening using approved aviation methods (X-ray, ETD, physical inspection)
• Ensure all cargo complies with government aviation security regulations
• Identify prohibited or dangerous goods with accuracy and attention to detail
• Complete compliance documentation in line with regulatory standards
• Maintain security control of screening equipment and designated areas
• Represent Certis as a professional on-site aviation security specialist
• Operate independently with full accountability in remote environments

About You

You are a reliable and detail-oriented professional who excels in high-trust environments. You will demonstrate:

• A valid Security Licence (mandatory)
• The ability to hold or obtain an ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card)
• Aviation screening experience (cargo or passenger) – advantageous but not essential
• Proven reliability and ability to attend all rostered shifts
• A strong security mindset and commitment to compliance
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving capability
• Confidence and maturity to work autonomously
• Strong communication skills when working with freight personnel
• High levels of reliability, punctuality and accountability
