Job Description

In this role, you'll:


Transform complex freight data into trusted evidence products that support strategic and operational decision-making across Transport for NSW.

Working across modern data platforms, analytics, visualisation and user experience disciplines, you will design and deliver high-impact data products that translate complex information into clear, actionable insights. You will collaborate with data engineers, analysts and business stakeholders to ensure solutions are technically robust, aligned with data governance principles and meet evolving business needs.

This role combines strong technical data capability with expertise in visual communication, human-centred design and stakeholder engagement to create innovative evidence products that drive better business outcomes.

This is a permanent position and will be based in Paramatta, NSW with some requirement to work from our Sydney CBD location.

About you


You are passionate about turning complex data into meaningful evidence that drives informed decision-making.

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Experience working with modern data platforms and cloud-based analytical environments, including Databricks.


Strong Python skills and experience developing scalable analytical solutions and data products.


Knowledge of modern data architecture patterns, including medallion architecture and data modelling principles.


Demonstrated understanding of data management, governance, metadata, data quality and information management practices.


Experience translating business requirements into effective data and evidence products.


Strong data storytelling capability, with the ability to communicate complex insights to technical and non-technical audiences.


Experience applying UI/UX and human-centred design principles to improve the usability and effectiveness of data products.


Experience collaborating with business stakeholders, analysts, engineers and subject matter experts.


Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing trusted, evidence-based insights.


Ability to balance technical excellence with business outcomes and user needs.
