We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented Freight Coordinator to join our logistics team. In this role, you will act as the central link between our clients, carriers, and warehouses, managing the day-to-day lifecycle of inbound and outbound shipments. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Pay: $20.00–$22.00 per hour, depending on experience

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Cargo Movement: Plan, schedule, and track daily inbound and outbound shipments across various modes (LTL, FTL, Air).
• Carrier Management: Dispatch carriers, negotiate competitive spot rates, and schedule strict pickup and delivery appointments.
• Real-Time Tracking: Monitor shipment statuses actively, proactively addressing transit delays or customs bottlenecks, and updating clients immediately.
• Documentation & Compliance: Create and audit essential shipping paperwork, including Bills of Lading (BOLs), commercial invoices, and packing slips.
• Problem Resolution: Resolve freight issues, including missed appointments, cargo shortages, and filing claims for damaged goods.
• Data Integrity: Maintain accurate, up-to-date logs of freight rates, delivery statuses, and carrier compliance metrics in our TMS/ERP database.
• Financial Auditing: Review and cross-reference carrier invoices against original quotes to ensure billing accuracy before submitting them to accounting.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: 1–3 years of experience in freight routing, logistics, dispatching, or freight brokerage.
• Education: High school diploma or verified equivalent required; a degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business is a strong plus.
• Software Savvy: Proficiency with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), ERP platforms, and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
• Communication Master: Excellent phone presence and written communication skills to handle high-stakes driver and client interactions.
• Problem Solver: Ability to make fast, analytical decisions under pressure when transit plans fail.
• Detail-Oriented: Exceptional multi-tasking skills with the ability to manage dozens of moving shipments simultaneously without missing a detail.
