This is a remote position.

We are seeking experienced freelance French language professionals to support our open-access scholarly publishing programme on a project-by-project basis.

Freelance services required

• 
  Pre-editing (formatting, compliance, completeness checks)
• 
  Copy-editing (language, grammar, clarity, style)
• 
  Substantive editing (structural and scholarly refinement)
• 
  Proofreading (final checks after typesetting)

Requirements

• 
  Native or near-native command of French (African)
• 
  Proven experience in academic or scholarly editing (journals, books, theses)
• 
  Strong knowledge of academic referencing styles (APA, Chicago, Vancouver, etc.)
• 
  Ability to meet deadlines and work independently
• 
  Sensitivity to scholarly voice and disciplinary conventions
