Sales Specialist (Risk and Compliance) Internship at LSEG Refinitiv World Check based in Paris - FRANCE

Internship Duration: 1 to 3 years (flexible to accommodate school requirements)

Location: PARIS

We are looking for a proactive and motivated Sales Specialist Risk Intern to join the LSEG Risk Intelligence Sales Team in Paris for a 2-year apprenticeship.

The role will focus on business development, prospecting, sales campaigns, market research, data analysis and the implementation of sales support programmes. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to learn complex B2B sales, work with experienced sales professionals and supply directly to pipeline generation and client engagement.

We are looking for someone autonomous, curious, structured, resilient and ready to develop a strong commercial “hunter” attitude.

We are looking for a motivated and proactive Sales Specialist Risk Intern to join the LSEG Risk Intelligence Sales Team in Paris. This apprenticeship is a unique opportunity to learn how complex B2B sales works in the field of Risk Intelligence, KYC, KYB, AML, screening, digital onboarding and third-party risk management. The role will have a strong focus on business development, prospecting, client engagement, sales support programmes and operational excellence. You will not only support the sales team on daily activities, but also take ownership of several programmes designed to help Sales Specialists accelerate pipeline generation, improve client targeting, structure outreach campaigns and increase team efficiency. This role is ideal for someone who is curious, autonomous, structured, resilient, and interested in developing a strong “hunter” sales attitude.

Main Mission

Your main mission will be to support the growth of LSEG Risk Intelligence by helping the sales team:

  • Work closely with Sales Team to identify new business opportunities
  • Work closely with Sales Team to build and implement prospecting campaigns
  • Work closely with Sales Team to support new logo and partner opportunities, develop tools, dashboards and programmes to help Sales Specialists work more efficiently, supply to market research and data-driven sales decisions.
  • You will work closely with Sales Specialists, Marketing, Product and other internal collaborators across France and EMEA.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development & Prospecting

You will play an active role in supporting new business development activities. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Identify target accounts across key segments such as banks, fintechs, payments companies, corporates and regulated entities.
  • Build structured prospect lists using tools such as Zoominfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Salesloft, Salesforce and market research.
  • Support outbound campaigns through email, LinkedIn, calls and follow-ups.
  • Help generate qualified leads and meetings for the sales team.
  • Support new logo acquisition and partner-led opportunities.
  • Supply to cross-sell and upsell campaigns.
  • Analyse campaign results and propose improvements.
  • This part of the role requires curiosity, resilience and the ability to test, learn and improve continuously.

2. Sales Programmes & Campaign Ownership

A key part of the apprenticeship will be to help design, implement and run sales support programmes. You will be expected to take ownership of several initiatives, such as:

  • Monthly LinkedIn outreach campaigns.
  • Monthly cross-sell campaigns.
  • New business outreach programmes.
  • Sales plays by industry or client segment.
  • Lead generation programmes.
  • Customer workflow initiatives.
  • Partner opportunity tracking.
  • Campaign reporting and performance follow-up.
  • The objective is to help the sales team become more structured, more efficient and more proactive in the market. You will be encouraged to bring ideas, suggest improvements and challenge existing ways of working.

3. Client Engagement & Sales Support

You will support Sales Specialists in client-facing activities and preparation. This may include:

  • Preparing client meeting materials and presentations.
  • Supporting proposals, quotes and commercial documents.
  • Helping understand client needs and business challenges.
  • Preparing account research before client meetings.
  • Supporting follow-up actions after client discussions.
  • Handling basic client questions by email or phone when appropriate.
  • Ensuring high-quality and professional customer interactions.
  • You will learn how to position LSEG Risk Intelligence solutions in front of clients facing challenges around compliance, onboarding, financial crime, sanctions screening and third-party risk.

4. Market Research & Competitive Intelligence

You will conduct regular research to help the sales team better understand market opportunities. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Analyse the Risk Intelligence market, including KYC, AML, KYB, screening, TPRM and digital onboarding.
  • Identify market trends, regulatory drivers and growth segments.
  • Research competitors and market standard methodologies.
  • Identify potential target accounts and decision-makers.
  • Prepare short market reports and recommendations for the sales team.
  • Support the team with insights on fintechs, banks, corporates and payment companies.
  • This will help the sales organisation prioritise the right accounts and improve commercial strategy.

5. Data Analysis, CRM & Reporting

You will support the team with data quality, reporting and performance tracking. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain and update Salesforce pipeline information.
  • Track leads, campaigns and business development activities.
  • Analyse sales activity, client feedback and campaign performance.
  • Build simple dashboards and tracking tools.
  • Prepare reports for internal collaborators.
  • Help monitor progress against sales objectives and campaign critical metrics.
  • Support EMEA central programmes with usage review, activity monitoring and performance reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail and difficulty will be important in this part of the role.

6. AI-Driven Business Development Initiatives

You will also have the opportunity to supply to AI-focused business development initiatives within Risk Intelligence. This may include:

  • Researching AI trends in KYC, AML, screening and third-party risk management
  • Exploring how AI can improve sales targeting and client engagement.
  • Supporting AI-enhanced prospecting and lead prioritisation.
  • Testing new approaches for personalisation and outreach.
  • Helping build AI use cases for client presentations or internal sales enablement.
  • Tracking the impact of AI initiatives on sales activity and conversion.
  • This is a strong opportunity to gain experience at the intersection of AI, sales and financial risk management.

Required Skills

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant degree programme such as Business, Sales, Finance, Economics, Marketing or a related field.
  • Strong interest in sales, business development and client engagement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in an international and fast-paced environment.
  • Preferred Skills Previous internship or experience in sales, business development, marketing or customer service.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Salesloft or LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
  • Interest in financial markets, compliance, risk intelligence, KYC, AML or fintech.
  • Ability to analyse data and turn it into useful recommendations.
  • Curiosity about AI and digital tools in sales.
