Job Description

At eBay, we're more than a global ecommerce leader — we’re changing the way the world shops and sells. Our platform empowers millions of buyers and sellers in more than 190 markets around the world. We’re committed to pushing boundaries and leaving our mark as we reinvent the future of ecommerce for enthusiasts.

Join a team of passionate thinkers, innovators, and dreamers — and help us connect people and build communities to create economic opportunity for all.

In the role of France & Italy Analytics Manager, you will reshape the way we interpret our customers, business, and local market. This involves integrating market-focused analytics leadership with modern customer analysis and AI-powered decisions. You will be a trusted analytics advisor to regional leaders and connect the region with eBay’s broad analytics and data science groups to guarantee insights remain aligned, scalable, and useful.

This is a high-impact opportunity for a hands-on, strategic problem solver who thrives at the intersection of market performance insight, customer/dedication analytics, and rigorous measurement.

What You Will Accomplish

As a pivotal member of our team, you will determine strategic priorities and implement solutions that drive performance. Your insights will be crucial in crafting data-driven strategies and improving market performance.

Strategic Leadership & Influence

  • Identify long-term business performance drivers and opportunities, connecting the dots across demand, supply, category performance, funnel health, and customer experience.
  • Provide consultative thought leadership to regional collaborators, crafting data-driven strategies across business domains.
  • Build compelling, executive-ready narratives that explain the “why” behind performance and customer behavior.
  • Act as the regional analytics integrator, connecting regional teams and horizontal analytics teams on a coherent set of priorities, findings, and actions for the market.

Customer Insights & Data Science

  • Develop strategies and measurement frameworks for customer dedication, retention, and long-term value, applying segmentation, engagement health diagnostics, and strategic insights.
  • Partner with data science and product teams to apply AI/ML methods to improve targeting, personalization, and strategic decisioning.
  • Ensure insights are crisply framed and translated into clear recommendations and measurable next steps for collaborators.
  • Lead high-priority deep dives into strategic questions (e.g., category shifts, marketplace health, pricing/competitiveness, shipping/returns friction, trust signals, supply/demand balance), translating findings into actions.

Measurement & AI-Enabled Insights

  • Establish benchmark frameworks, reporting, and operating rhythms (goal tracking, business reviews, anomaly detection) that improve decision velocity and measurable outcomes.
  • Build and improve analytics workflows and self-serve/AI capabilities so teams can answer repeat questions quickly and reliably.
  • Evolve experimentation and incrementality approaches for market initiatives, including A/B testing where possible and quasi-experimental methods where constraints exist.
  • Mentor and guide analysts/partners through structured problem solving, scientific thinking, and measurement hygiene.

What You Will Bring

Your proven expertise will be essential in driving our analytics capabilities forward, ensuring we stay competitive and innovative.

Technical & Analytical Expertise

  • Strong experience in business and customer analytics, spanning multiple business domains.
  • Demonstrated strength in customer segmentation, retention/dedication measurement, and CLV/LTV-style frameworks.
  • Strong grounding in statistics, experimentation, and causal thinking (test composition, incrementality, uplift/impact measurement).
  • Technical proficiency in SQL and Python for analysis and automation; ability to build reproducible workflows and operate comfortably with large datasets.
  • Strong dashboarding/data visualization skills (Tableau preferred) with an emphasis on clarity, governance, and decision usefulness.

Leadership & Communication

  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional partners and drive alignment through clear analytics framing and collaborator management.
  • Excellent executive communication skills, able to translate complex analyses into simple, compelling recommendations at pace.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity with a bias for action and a strong customer-first approach.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a quantitative field (e.g., statistics, economics, engineering, computer science, data science).
  • Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  • Typically 8+ years in analytics, data science, or related roles (or equivalent experience), with demonstrated leadership through influence and/or people leadership (scope dependent on level).
