Job Description

Great State is looking for a marketing manager-level freelancer to support the team through a busy period.

The role

This is a hands-on, part-time contract role, likely 2 days a week, running from mid-September through to end of November initially, subject to review. You'll split your time between writing, content management, creative briefing, and project management, helping us keep pace without dropping quality. You'll report to the Senior Marketing Manager and sit within the marketing and new business team.

You'll thrive here if you...

What you'll do

  • Write high-quality content for the website: pages, articles, and supporting copy that reflects our tone of voice
  • Manage and update our CMS (Umbraco), from small edits to larger content builds
  • Build and send emails in Mailchimp
  • Occasionally manage creative briefs through the studio, covering things like social assets and one-pagers
  • Project manage your own workload, prioritising and delivering independently in a fast-moving agency environment

What we're looking for

  • Marketing manager level experience, ideally agency-side or B2B
  • Strong writing skills, comfortable adapting tone and style to brief
  • Confident working in Umbraco and Mailchimp
  • Very organised, with a track record of managing your own workload and priorities
  • Quick to learn and quick to slot into a new team
  • Confident and clear communicator, comfortable approaching stakeholders across the business with requests
  • Available to start mid-September for an initial period through to end of November

Practicalities

  • Part-time, contract basis, likely 2 days a week
  • Mid-September to end of November initially, subject to review
  • Remote/hybrid, Bristol-based team

About Great State

Customer expectations are evolving.

Each generation expects more that the last. They’re spending differently, learning differently, living differently.

These new behaviours demand new experiences. Because the pace of change isn’t just accelerating. It's hurtling forward faster than anything we've lived through before. And with each shift, the gap between expectation and experience grows.

Seamless, personal, connected experiences are non-negotiable.

That's why we’re always anticipating, constantly adapting and continually discovering. Why we're obsessed with experiences that are convenient, relevant, excellent.

It’s how we’re closing the gap between expectation and experience.

Now and for the generations to come.
