Job Description

FR Specialist - Financial Risk Capital and Analysis - hire in GJA 17 or GJA 18

The Financial Risk Capital and Analysis Chapter is part of the Global Financial Risk Framework and Controls Tribe.

This chapter includes 3 pillars activities and can be divided into three main risk pillars: Market Risk Economic Capital (MREC), Financial Risk Regulatory Capital, and Financial Risk Oversight:

1. MREC pillar:

• Global lead of the MREC framework and oversight.

• Responsible for MREC Risk Appetite Statement (RAS), MREC reporting, forecasting and capital steering;

• Enhance Business usage of MREC through streamlined RAS, centralized & simplified model landscape and effective risk insights

• Model owner for the Group MREC banking book models; and

• Point of Contact for the MREC topics for internal (and external stakeholders).

2. Financial Risk Regulatory Capital Pillar:

• Global lead of the capital oversight in Financial Risk;

• Responsible for FR Capital RAS, reporting, forecasting and overall capital steering;

• Model owner for the Group MRWA banking book models, and Equity Risk Weighted Assets in the banking book; and

• Point of Contact for the FR Capital and MRWA banking book topics for internal and external stakeholders.

3. FR Oversight Pillar:

• Responsible for the integrated FR risk management cycle including FR Risk identification and assessment, FR RAS and FR Risk monitoring;

• Provide strong Financial Risk oversight, including Committee input and challenge on key topics for ING.

• Review and challenge the Annual Report and Rating Agency contributions from Financial Risk;

• Enhance forward‑looking risk mgt through Stress Testing oversight, and proactive risk assessments

The Chapter also performs the CARC Secretariat function, including the review and challenge of risk Assessments and CARC dashboards.

We are looking for a motivated and analytically strong Financial Risk Specialist who thrives in a dynamic, global environment. You bring a solid understanding of financial risk, capital frameworks, and risk oversight, combined with the ability to translate complex topics into clear insights.

You are proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working across stakeholders, contributing to key areas such as Market Risk Economic Capital (MREC), Financial Risk Regulatory Capital, and overall Financial Risk Oversight. With a strong sense of ownership and collaboration, you support the continuous improvement of frameworks, reporting, and risk processes, while actively contributing to effective decision-making and strategic risk management.
