
To act as the primary Financial Business Partner for the CTO and CPO, providing financial visibility, challenging investment assumptions, managing the end-to-end lifecycle of Capital Expenditures (Capex) and operating expenses for software development and infrastructure, ensuring strict application of IFRS framework at Malt.
Lead the annual budget and quarterly rolling forecasting cycles for the R&D and IT departments, including monthly variance analysis.
Evaluate, under strict IFRS rules, new R&D phases and IT projects by calculating NPV, IRR, ROI, and Payback Periods to guide Product Committee decisions.
Partner with Engineering Leads to optimize headcount/freelancing spend, and track R&D Intensity/Innovation Effectiveness ratios.
Define and enforce IAS 38 capitalization policies (IFRS guidelines), track hardware/software lifecycles, and coordinate month-end closing with Accounting.
Audit the internal time-tracking system to ensure accurate Project ID tagging, defending R&D Tax Credits and Capitalization audits and ensure IFRS strict compliance.
Manage balance sheet reporting & forecast, including Month-End Variance Analysis, Working Capital KPI Tracking, Driver-Based Working Capital Modeling (under IFRS rules), Accrued Liabilities Roll-Forwards and CAPEX and Depreciation Forecasting.
Own and build a dedicated Pigment app.
Experience Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience, specifically focused on R&D and project controlling.
Knowledge Strong IFRS knowledge, practical grasp of IAS 38 (Intangible Assets), and project accounting rules.
Skills High proficiency in building complex financial models for forecasting, business cases, and scenario analysis (NPV, IRR), combined with excellent interpersonal skills to challenge assumptions collaboratively across technical and product departments.
Tools Advanced Excel, dashboarding solutions, and FP&A software (Pigment is a major plus; ERP knowledge advantageous).
Languages Fully fluent in both French and English on a native level to operate in an international European environment.
