The FP&A Manager leads the FP&A team in delivering high-quality financial reporting, analytics, and business insights to support organizational decision-making. The role drives operational excellence through stakeholder collaboration, process improvements, automation, and strong governance while ensuring accurate, timely, and value-added FP&A services. The organization is expected to be an integrated part of Malaysia Shared Services service offering, and transition into an Enterprise-wide solution provider for FP&A related deliverables and tasks.
Job Responsibilities:
FP&A Function
• Reporting & Analytics: Lead the delivery and continuous enhancement of management reporting, dashboards, and financial analytics to provide timely, accurate, and actionable insights. Ensure reporting standards, governance, and quality are consistently maintained across the FP&A function.
• Financial Analysis: Provide leadership in variance analysis, trend analysis, performance measurement, and business case evaluations. Review analytical outputs and provide recommendations that support business decision-making and operational performance.
• Data Management & Governance: Establish governance over financial data, ensuring consistency, integrity, and accuracy across reporting systems and data sources. Drive standardization of reporting methodologies and promote a single source of truth.
• Executive Reporting: Consolidate and communicate financial performance, key business drivers, risks, opportunities, and operational insights to senior leadership through executive-level reports.
• Stakeholder Partnership: Build strong partnerships with finance and business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements, align priorities, and deliver value-added financial insights that support business objectives.
Service Delivery & Stakeholder Management
• Partner with Corporate Finance leadership to establish future road map for integration into SSC across various MCC businesses and locations
• Develop the service catalog of SSC owned deliverables and tasks, to be used as an implementation and reporting tool, representing the organization.
• Lead the delivery of FP&A services in accordance with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs), ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and high-quality customer service.
• Act as the primary escalation point for operational issues, stakeholder concerns, and service delivery challenges, ensuring timely resolution.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with regional and global finance teams, business leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Finance, Commercial, Operations, IT, and other functional teams to continuously improve reporting, analytics, and service delivery.
• Monitor service performance through KPIs and implement initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness and customer satisfaction.
Team Leadership & People Management
• Lead, coach, mentor, and develop the FP&A team to build technical expertise, analytical capabilities, and business acumen.
• Set clear performance expectations, monitor team objectives, and conduct regular performance reviews and development discussions.
• Allocate resources effectively to balance workloads, manage priorities, and ensure business continuity across recurring reporting, projects, and ad hoc requests.
• Building a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous learning, and customer-focused service delivery.
• Identify capability gaps and implement development plans to strengthen succession planning and overall team effectiveness.
Continuous Improvement (CI) Tracking
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reporting processes, analytical capabilities, and operational efficiency.
• Drive automation and standardization initiatives by leveraging available technologies and reporting tools.
• Establish and maintain standardized reporting processes, documentation, governance, and best practices to improve consistency and scalability.
• Lead implementation of new reporting solutions, process enhancements, and system improvements while ensuring minimal business disruption.
• Promote innovation and encourage the adoption of best practices across supported business functions.
Compliance and Internal Controls
• Ensure full adherence to Company’s accounting policies, processes, procedures, authorization levels, and SOX controls.
• Ensure full adherence to document retention as per the requirement by regulatory authorities in the specific country of operations/ business units.
• Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard Company’s assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of existing internal controls.
• Stay updated on accounting standards, regulations, and compliance requirements to ensure the Company's financial practices align with industry standards and legal obligations.
Job Requirements:
• Degree in Accounting/Finance, Business Administration or equivalent with professional qualifications (ACCA/CPA/MIA).
• Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and management reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyse large datasets and automate reporting.
• Experience partnering with senior leaders and business stakeholders across functions or regions.
• Proven ability to deliver outcomes through a team (direct or matrix reporting structure).
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify business opportunities and risks.
• Comfortable supporting multiple markets and working with geographically dispersed stakeholders.
