Job Description

FP&A Analyst

Department: Finance

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Remote, UK

Reporting To: Rajathi Ratnasiri

Compensation: £45,000 - £55,000 / year

At Aptem, we’re passionate about creating solutions that enable our customers to deliver world-class training offerings that support their learners in developing in their chosen careers. Demand for our end-to-end SaaS solutions are ever-increasing and we are continuing to expand rapidly as a business. If you’re interested in joining a talented, committed and driven team that is leading the charge in this fast-growing space, then you should apply!

Many of our team work remotely but we have a London office in Old Street which we use regularly. We are happy to be flexible in terms of where in the country you prefer to be based.

The Role:

Numbers tell stories. We need someone who knows how to read and interpret them.
We're looking for a FP&A Analyst to join our Finance team in a role that sits at the centre of how Aptem plans, reports, and makes decisions. You'll support financial planning, analysis, and reporting across the business, working alongside senior finance colleagues and partnering with commercial teams to make sure the numbers are telling the right story.
You'll get real commercial exposure, board-level reporting, and help shape how we work as we implement a new FP&A tool.

What you'll do:

  • Build and improve financial models that support forecasting, budgeting, scenario analysis, and long-range planning.
  • Prepare reporting packs for senior stakeholders and the Board.
  • Help translate business activity into financial outcomes and explain what it all means to people who don't speak spreadsheet.
  • Work with teams across the business to gather inputs, challenge assumptions, and sharpen forecast accuracy.
  • Support revenue forecasting by analysing trends, pricing, and business performance, then distilling it into clear, actionable insight for senior stakeholders and the board.
  • Contribute to the implementation of our new FP&A tool, including design, data structure, and adoption.
  • Identify opportunities to use AI and automation to improve the quality, speed, and impact of financial analysis and reporting.
  • Support ad hoc strategic and operational projects.

What we're looking for:

  • ACCA/CIMA/ACA or equivalent qualification or part qualified.
  • Two to five years of experience in an FP&A or management accounting role, ideally in a SaaS or technology business.
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with large, complex data sets.
  • A genuine interest in using AI tools (such as Claude, ChatGPT, or automation workflows) to work smarter and produce better insight.
  • Tech-savvy and open to learning new tools; experience with an FP&A planning platform (e.g. Adaptive Insights, Anaplan, Planful) and Xero is a bonus.
  • Able to turn complex data into clear, simple stories that influence decisions for finance and non-finance audiences alike.
  • Curious, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
  • A natural collaborator who enjoys working across teams to solve problems.

Benefits

Aptem offers numerous benefits to support our team.

  • 27 days annual leave
  • Option to buy up to 5 extra days’ annual leave
  • Life insurance
