The Allegro team is united by a clear purpose—advancing technologies that make the world safer, more efficient, and more sustainable. With over 30 years of experience in semiconductor innovation, we bring that purpose to life across every part of the business—from breakthrough product development and customer success to how we show up for each other and the communities we serve.
The Opportunity
Allegro MicroSystems is a global leader in power and sensing solutions. We are seeking a Resident Fab Engineer to serve as our primary technical liaison at our key wafer fabrication (Fab) partner sites. You will be the "eyes and ears" of Allegro inside the foundry, ensuring that our proprietary semiconductor processes are executed to the highest standards. This is a high-visibility role that blends deep process engineering knowledge with strategic supplier management.
What You Will Do
On-Site Technical Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact between Allegro’s internal Quality/Product Engineering teams and the foundry’s process engineers.
Yield & Quality Improvement: Monitor daily line health and wafer sort yields. Lead root-cause analysis for any yield excursions or process deviations using statistical process control (SPC) data.
Process Monitoring & Control: Audit foundry process flows for Allegro-specific technologies (BCD, High Voltage, TMR). Ensure adherence to agreed-upon Process Control Plans (PCP) and Quality Agreements.
New Product Introduction (NPI): Support the seamless transfer of new products from development into high-volume manufacturing. Coordinate the fabrication of engineering samples and "hot lots."
Excursion Management: In the event of a manufacturing issue, lead the task force to identify the source of the problem, contain affected material, and implement corrective actions (8D reports).
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for cycle-time reduction, cost-saving process tweaks, and yield optimization without compromising device performance or reliability.
What You Will Need
B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or Physics.
5-10 years of hands-on experience in a semiconductor wafer fab environment (Process Engineering, Yield Engineering, or Integration).
Deep understanding of BCD (Bipolar-CMOS-DMOS) or Analog/Mixed-Signal process flows.
Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., JMP, Minitab, or Spotfire).
Familiarity with failure analysis techniques (SEM, EDX, FIB).
Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical issues to both internal executives and external foundry partners.
A "resident" mentality—you are comfortable working autonomously at a partner site while remaining deeply connected to Allegro’s corporate goals and values.
