Founding Product Engineer

We're representing a client building a next-generation AI platform purpose-built for businesses. Their technology is transforming how critical business workflows are automated and enhanced, leveraging advanced machine learning combined with deep domain expertise. As a founding team member, you will have a unique opportunity to shape the product and engineering culture from the ground up.

What You Will Do

• Serve as a founding product engineer, taking end-to-end ownership of features from ideation through production deployment.
• Partner closely with founders and stakeholders to translate business and underwriting requirements into elegant, scalable technical solutions.
• Architect and build core components of the AI underwriting platform, including data pipelines, model integrations, and user-facing product surfaces.
• Make critical early decisions around technical architecture, tooling, and engineering standards that will define the company's foundation.
• Iterate rapidly based on customer feedback and usage data, balancing speed with long-term code quality and maintainability.
• Help recruit, evaluate, and onboard future engineering talent as the team grows.

Ideal Candidate Background

• 5–10 years of software engineering experience, with a proven track record of delivering high-impact products in fast-paced environments.
• Strong proficiency in Python, React, TypeScript, and Next.js, with hands-on experience shipping features in these technologies daily.
• Proven ability to operate as a full-stack engineer, comfortable across the product surface, from backend systems to user interfaces.
• Experience working in an early-stage or founding engineering role, with a strong understanding of AI/ML systems and their integration into production applications.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred

• Prior experience in insurtech, fintech, or underwriting-adjacent domains.
• Background in companies that scaled from zero to production at significant volume.
• Familiarity with deploying and monitoring machine learning models in a production environment.

Compensation and Benefits
