We're assisting a well-funded startup in the health-tech space with their search for a founding mobile engineer. They've created a platform that allows patients to shop for healthcare just as they'd shop for anything else online. The role will be a hyrbid position, working 3 days in the Cambridge or SF office and 2 days remotely.
What you'll do:
Help to stand up the mobile app from scratch
Make key architectural decisions
Set the patterns that the rest of the team builds on top of
What you'll bring:
3+ years of experience building mobile apps, with meaningful production experience in React Native
Strong understanding of native iOS and/or Android development (Swift, Kotlin) — you don't need to be an expert in both, but you should be comfortable with either
Experience with Expo, including build tooling, OTA updates, and native module configuration
Proficiency with TypeScript and React
Experience architecting shared code between mobile and web codebases (or a strong opinion on how to do it well)
Familiarity with modern backend frameworks is a plus — they use Ruby on Rails and Postgres
