Founding iOS Engineer

What You Will Do

• Own the end-to-end development of the iOS app, focusing on core marketplace flows such as search, discovery, property details, and booking.
• Build a high-quality native iOS codebase from the ground up, including architecture, state management, and testing strategies.
• Collaborate closely with Product and Design teams to create intuitive and polished mobile experiences with meticulous attention to detail.
• Define the mobile app strategy, determining how it can differentiate from web offerings and leverage business opportunities.
• Work with backend engineers to shape API contracts that enhance app performance, resilience, and evolution.
• Drive the app's performance, reliability, and quality while fostering a strong engineering culture.

Ideal Candidate Background

• Proven experience in building and shipping production software, with a strong foundation in computer science principles.
• Meaningful experience with iOS and Swift, having successfully launched iOS features in a production environment.
• Ability to define architectural patterns and best practices for a new mobile foundation without prior iOS expertise around.
• Experience in ownership of features or products from concept to deployment.
• Strong product intuition and the capability to make informed technical and product decisions independently.

Preferred

• Familiarity with modern iOS frameworks such as UIKit and SwiftUI.
• Experience working in high-caliber engineering environments or impactful startup settings.
• Generalist engineering skills that allow for contributions beyond mobile development when needed.

Compensation and Benefits
