Job Description

Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance is required by hospital policy. Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and must maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.

Identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards potential and existing major gift donors of Nationwide Children's Hospital (NCH). Manages a mid-level prospect portfolio and supports Foundation events.

Essential Functions:

  • Builds, manages, and maintains a mid-level prospect portfolio with the capacity to give major gifts ($50K-$1M) on an annual basis.
  • Collaborates to understand the case for support to inspire benefactors to move up the giving pyramid.
  • Practices moves management through the benefactor life cycle, including identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Collaborates to identify prospects for major giving or estate and planned giving portfolios, building relationships and moving them into the donor pipeline.
  • Documents all donor-related activities using the Raiser’s Edge software donor system.
  • Assists in cultivation and stewardship for Foundation events, supporting event operations and donor engagement.
  • Shares experiences, ideas, and new directions for Major Giving.

Education Requirement:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, required.

Skills:

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for public speaking and one-on-one communication with people of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated diplomacy and political savvy.
  • Ability to handle confidential information and make ethical decisions.
  • Proficiency with MS Office.

Experience:

  • Fund-raising or sales experience, required.
  • Management and marketing experience, preferred.
  • Experience with trust- and estate-giving, preferred.
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge, preferred.
