The Foundation Accountant will be responsible for the financial accounting of foundation activities in accordance with organizational policies, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), OMB Uniform Guidance, and the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) guidelines. In addition to the accounting responsibilities this role will assist in identifying and submitting proposals for federal, state, foundation, or corporate grant opportunities aligned with the Hospital’s strategic mission. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, with a focus on continuous process improvement, efficiency, and maintaining strong internal controls.
The Foundation Accountant will primarily support the financial accounting functions for all aspects of the foundation, working closely with other departments to ensure accurate and timely reporting. This role will also involve performing additional accounting duties as assigned.
Education and Credentials
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business.
Preferred
Master’s degree (MBA, MHA)
Work Experience
Required
Five or more years of related accounting and grant writing experience. Given training and on-the-job experience, incumbent should be proficient in the basic aspects of the job within three months of employment date.
