Job Description

Liquid Personnel is seeking a committed and experienced Fostering Social Worker to join its client's team in Shropshire for a 3-month maternity cover. This role is ideal for a practitioner who enjoys working independently across a large geographical area while remaining an integral part of a supportive fostering service.

What will your responsibilities be?

  • Supervision & Support: Provide high-quality supervision and support to a caseload of foster carers, ensuring they provide a safe and nurturing environment for children.
  • Safeguarding: Monitor the welfare of children in placement, ensuring all fostering standards and safeguarding regulations are strictly met.
  • Annual Reviews: Conduct robust annual reviews of foster carers to evaluate their practice and identify any further training or support needs.
  • Form F Assessments: Contribute to the assessment and preparation of prospective foster carers as required.
  • Training & Development: Facilitate or support foster carer training and practice meetings to promote continuous professional development.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and purposeful case records in line with statutory fostering regulations.

  • Office/Team Attendance: You will be required to attend the office for team meetings and practice meetings, which typically occur 2 to 3 times per month.
  • Contract Length: This is a 3-month temporary contract to cover maternity leave.

Qualifications & Experience:

To be successful in this role you must have,

  • Social Work England registration and a recognized social work qualification (CQSW, DipSW, or Degree).
  • Fostering Experience: Proven experience within a fostering team, including a strong understanding of the Fostering Services National Minimum Standards.
  • Driving Licence: A full UK driving licence and access to a car are essential, as you will be required to travel across the whole of Shropshire.
  • Self-Management: The ability to manage a workload independently while working remotely.
