Job Category: Nonprofit - Social ServicesThe Foster Parent Support Worker provides trauma-informed support, guidance, and resources to foster parents to ensure the well-being and stability of children placed in foster care. This role emphasizes understanding the impact of trauma on children and families, equipping foster parents with strategies to create safe, nurturing, and healing environments. The Foster Parent Support Worker serves as a liaison between foster families, agency staff, and community resources, promoting compliance with state regulations and agency standards while fostering resilience and stability in placements.
Essential Functions
•    Provide emotional and practical support to foster parents, addressing concerns and challenges promptly.
•    Advocate for foster families and children within the child welfare system.
•    Assist foster parents in understanding agency policies, licensing requirements, and best practices.
•    Coordinate and facilitate training sessions for foster parents as needed.
•    Conduct regular home visits to assess the safety and stability of placements.
•    Ensure foster homes comply with state and agency regulations
•    Maintain accurate case notes and records in accordance with agency and state guidelines
•    Prepare reports on foster parent progress
•    Work closely with case management staff and other team members to support placement success.
•    Connect foster families with community resources and support services.

Qualifications•    Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or related field (Master’s preferred).
•    

Experience: Minimum 1–2 years in child welfare, foster care, or family support services.
•    Skills:
•    Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
•    Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize tasks effectively.
•    Knowledge of child welfare regulations and trauma-informed care practices.
•    Other Requirements:
•    Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
•    Ability to pass background checks and maintain confidentiality.
