Job Description

Main Purpose:

Act as a business analyst for our Latam freight forwarding activities. Create and compile reports, and review team performance versus pre-defined goals. Push the teams to ensure continuous improvements.

Support and coordinate commercial activities in Latam.

Support the daily activities of our Montevideo freight forwarding team, mainly handling container shipments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consolidate FFWD team performance versus company KPI’s, review and send out to internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Over cost tracking and analysis for Americas FFWD teams.
  • Support FFWD operations of Montevideo team, handling individual shipments.
  • Market research and analysis of key commodity flows across the Americas.
  • Preparation of business cases, presentations, project documentation, tenders, opportunity assessments, etc..
  • Support with preparing documents for commercial proposals (e.g. offer pack, due diligence documents, acquisition requests, RFPs, etc).
  • Support business improvement projects, including the development and roll out of new processes, procedures, tools and templates.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of international freight forwarding, trade terms and Incoterms.
  • Good notions of international trade and warehousing/terminal activities.
  • Knowledge of commodities markets is a plus.
  • 2 to 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in Freight Forwarding/(Container-)shipping.
  • Fluent in spoken and written Spanish and English. Portuguese is a plus.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Good analytical skills, with the confidence to ask questions.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce based applications is a plus.
  • Adaptiveness to working in a multinational, high paced and complicated environment
  • Punctual, team player, diligent with work.
  • Open mentality: No 9 to 5 attitude.
  • Availability to travel to regional Impala Terminals sites.

Key Relationships:

Internal:Forwarding and logistics units, commercial team, IT team.

External: Clients, shipping lines, customs agents, trucking companies, warehousing companies
