As a Forwarder within our Projects & Events team, you take ownership of complex international shipments that require planning, coordination and a strong dose of creativity.

Unlike traditional forwarding environments, no two projects are the same. One day you're coordinating exhibition materials for an international event, the next you're managing oversized cargo, steel shipments or multimodal project cargo moving across multiple countries and transport modes.

You coordinate both import and export shipments and work across ocean freight, air freight, road transport and container logistics. Many shipments involve warehouse activities, stuffings, strippings and close collaboration with agents, suppliers and MPL offices around the world.

This is a role for someone who enjoys variety, can quickly adapt to changing circumstances and knows how to stay calm when timelines become critical. You become a trusted partner for your customers, ensuring every shipment is executed flawlessly, even when the unexpected happens.

Responsibilities

What you'll be doing

• Managing complex international import and export shipments from A to Z.
• Coordinating project cargo, event logistics and specialized shipments across multiple transport modes.
• Handling ocean freight, air freight, road transport and containerized cargo.
• Organizing stuffings, strippings and warehouse-related activities.
• Coordinating closely with agents, suppliers, terminals, warehouses and MPL offices worldwide.
• Acting as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the entire shipment lifecycle.
• Managing multiple projects, deadlines and customer requirements simultaneously.
• Monitoring shipment progress and proactively resolving operational challenges.
• Building strong customer relationships through excellent communication and service.
• Developing creative and efficient solutions for non-standard logistics requirements.
• Ensuring compliance with customer requirements, transport regulations and internal procedures.
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes and deliver added value to customers.

Requirements

At MPL, we turn knowledge into action. Who are we looking for?

• You have at least 5 years of experience in freight forwarding and are comfortable managing shipments independently.
• You have experience with both import and export operations.
• You have a solid understanding of international forwarding processes and transport regulations.
• Experience with project cargo, steel, breakbulk, events logistics or other complex logistics flows is a strong asset.
• You are comfortable coordinating shipments across different transport modes, including ocean freight and air freight.
• You enjoy working with a diverse customer portfolio consisting of both large strategic customers and smaller project-based accounts.
• Communication is key. You're fluent in Dutch and English. Additional languages are a plus.
• You build strong customer relationships and remain calm in time-critical situations.
• You think beyond standard procedures and enjoy finding creative solutions.
• You can quickly switch between priorities and perform well in a dynamic environment.
• You take ownership and make decisions with confidence.
• You're comfortable working with digital tools and continuously improving the way you work.
