We are looking for a highly skilled and entrepreneurial Forward Deployed Engineer with 4–6 years of experience to work at the intersection of software engineering, backend development, and customer-facing technical problem-solving. In this role, you will work closely with customers and internal engineering teams to understand complex business challenges and rapidly design, build, and deploy scalable technology solutions.

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will take ownership of solving real-world technical problems in dynamic environments. You will collaborate directly with stakeholders to gather requirements, translate business needs into technical solutions, and develop production-ready software. This role requires strong hands-on engineering capabilities, particularly in software engineering and backend development, along with the ability to operate independently and thrive in ambiguous situations.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with customers, business stakeholders, and internal teams to understand technical requirements and business challenges.
• Design, develop, test, and deploy robust software solutions tailored to customer and organizational needs.
• Build scalable and high-performance backend systems, APIs, services, and integrations.
• Translate complex business requirements into clear technical designs and implementation plans.
• Take ownership of projects from initial discovery and solution design through development, deployment, and ongoing improvement.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Debug and resolve complex technical issues across applications, services, and system integrations.
• Develop and maintain clean, reliable, and maintainable code following engineering best practices.
• Work in fast-paced environments where priorities may evolve based on customer requirements and business needs.
• Identify opportunities to improve engineering processes, system performance, and solution scalability.
• Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Support the successful deployment and adoption of solutions in real-world customer environments.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 4–6 years of professional experience in software engineering or related technical roles.
• Strong hands-on experience in software engineering, including designing, developing, testing, and maintaining production-quality applications.
• Solid expertise in backend development, including building APIs, backend services, databases, and distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience working with databases, APIs, third-party integrations, and cloud-based applications.
• Ability to write clean, scalable, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex technical challenges.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership, and make sound technical decisions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Comfortable working directly with customers and translating business problems into technical solutions.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Previous experience as an Engineering Manager, technical lead, or in a role involving engineering leadership.
• Experience as a Founder, co-founder, or working in an early-stage startup environment.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate effectively in ambiguous and rapidly changing environments.
• Experience leading technical initiatives or mentoring engineers.
• Exposure to product development and customer-focused engineering.
