As our products and client base grow, the journey from sales to activation is becoming more technical and more important. We are looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer who can help clients go from “interested” to “live and successful” faster, with the right technical guidance along the way.

About the role

We are hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to join Reap’s client-facing technical function.

This is an individual contributor role work directly with Sales, clients, Implementation, Customer Growth, Product, Engineering, Operations, and Compliance to help complex clients move from technical discovery to solution design, implementation, activation, and successful usage.

This is not a pure software engineering role, but you should be an engineer by background or capability. You should be comfortable with APIs, integrations, technical troubleshooting, client conversations, and commercial context. Your work will be focused on helping the right clients activate successfully and generate real value after go-live.

What you’ll own

  • Support pre-sales technical discovery and qualification for qualified opportunities, especially enterprise, strategic, API-heavy, or high-potential clients.

  • Translate client requirements into practical solution designs using Reap’s products, APIs, workflows, and implementation patterns.

  • Help Sales identify technical risks, integration complexity, operational dependencies, and activation blockers before commitment.

  • Help clients move from technical go-live to meaningful activation and real usage.

  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Operations, Compliance, CG, and TCX to unblock client journeys and improve activation outcomes.

  • Turn repeated client questions and implementation issues into better documentation, enablement, tooling, automation, and product feedback.

What success looks like

You will be successful if:

  • technical fit and activation risks are identified earlier in the sales process

  • clients receive practical, credible, and commercially sensible solution guidance

  • complex clients move through implementation with fewer avoidable delays

  • activated clients generate real usage and revenue, not just technical go-live

  • Sales, Implementation, CG, Product, Engineering, Operations, and Compliance have clearer context and ownership around client technical journeys

  • recurring issues become better documentation, tooling, process improvements, or product feedback

What we’re looking for

We are looking for someone who is technical, commercial, client-facing, and execution-oriented.

You may be a fit if you have:

  • Experience in a client-facing technical role such as Forward Deployed Engineering, Solution Engineering, Sales Engineering, Implementation Engineering, Technical Account Management, Solutions Architecture, or a similar function

  • Engineer by background with strong technical fluency with APIs, integrations, webhooks, authentication, data flows, sandbox / production environments, and technical troubleshooting

  • Experience in fintech, payments, card issuing, banking infrastructure, Web3, stablecoins, digital assets, or digital financial infrastructure

  • Experience supporting enterprise or strategic clients

  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Good commercial judgment: you can balance technical complexity, client needs, activation potential, and business value

  • A bias toward execution, ownership, and solving messy client problems across teams

Nice to have

  • Experience working across multiple regions or time zones

  • Experience using AI, automation, documentation, or tooling to improve implementation, support, onboarding, or client activation

Who this role is for

This role is for someone who wants to be a strong execution-focused FDE, not just a traditional implementation manager or a pure software engineer.

You should enjoy working directly with clients, understanding technical requirements, shaping solutions, unblocking integrations, and helping high-value clients reach meaningful activation. You should be technical enough to work with engineers, commercial enough to support Sales, and operational enough to move complex client journeys forward.
