Forklift Operator

The Injection Molding Production Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating forklifts and other mechanized equipment to support production, ensuring the smooth flow of materials, and maintaining operational efficiency. This role requires a combination of technical skills, physical stamina, and attention to detail to handle materials effectively while adhering to safety standards.
Work Environment:

  • Fast-paced manufacturing setting with exposure to machinery and moving equipment.
  • May involve standing for extended periods, frequent lifting, and navigating tight spaces.
  • Strict adherence to safety regulations and protocols is required at all times

Requirements

1. Operating Vehicles and Mechanized Equipment: Safely operate forklifts to transport raw materials and finished products within the production facility. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and report hazards immediately. Navigate and maneuver equipment in tight spaces with precision to ensure efficiency and avoid damage.

2. Inspecting Equipment and Materials: Conduct regular inspections of forklifts and other equipment to identify potential issues or defects. Knowledgeable with resins, colorants, materials, cartons. Monitor materials for quality and report any discrepancies or defects to the supervisor. Provide timely updates on material availability, equipment conditions, and task progress.

3. Handling and Moving Objects: Load and unload materials from production lines, storage areas, and trucks. Evaluate and address logistical challenges to maintain a steady supply chain for the production process. Position molds, tools, and other equipment as needed to support production operations.

4. Identifying Objects and Events: Accurately categorize and organize materials based on production needs. Detect and respond to changes in production demands or material requirements. Develop and execute plans to manage material flow, prioritize urgent tasks, and meet production deadlines. Proven experience operating forklifts in a production or warehouse environment, preferably in injection molding. Certification or license to operate forklifts (preferred) or to be obtained. Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask. Physical capability to perform strenuous activities and handle heavy materials. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
