SALARY: $19.42 - $21.13 DOE
The forklift operator is responsible for yard maintenance, inventory, staging of loads, receiving, and shipping. This position must work in a team environment and have personal accountability.
· Comply with Westlake Safety Policies and Procedures.
· Pick the correct product according to the picking list to ensure accuracy.
· Ensuring no damaged items are sent.
· Input information into ERP system using scan gun.
· Stage and inspect loads for shipment adhering to specifications and has no defects.
· Load and unload flatbed trailers and containers.
· Perform cycle count on yard inventory.
· Hand stacking, wrapping, and strapping of molding.
· Operate Forklift and other related Powered Industrial Vehicles and tools.
· Implement and sustain 5S methodologies in work area.
· Other duties as assigned.
· 1 year of manufacturing experience.
· Must have basic computer skills.
· Must be able and willing to cross-train across other functional areas.
· Excellent eye/hand coordination.
· Be able to pass a forklift test and maintain the required forklift license.
The employee should have the following:
· High School Diploma or equivalent.
· 1-2 years' experience in a relevant field.
· Ability to work alone and in a team environment.
The employee should possess the ability to:
· Prolonged standing or in a stationary position.
· Complete repetitive movements.
· Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that may require hearing protection.
· Wear all required personal protective equipment.
· Ability to lift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds.
· Ability to move or traverse about the facilities.
· Must be able to ascend/descend stairs or ladders.
· Exposure to dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions.
· Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
