About this opportunity

Our team in Laredo is actively looking for a Forklift Operator to join our dynamic
team! Primary role of a forklift operator is to safely and efficiently operate a forklift to move materials, goods, and products within a warehouse.

Pay and Schedule

This position is:

Monday - Friday 12pm to 9pm

Pay range is $16 to $19/hour.

How will you contribute to the success of the team?

  • Reporting to supervisor regarding any damage to freight, faulty equipment, or any other safety hazards
  • Comparing data on freight bills with recorded weight and further production information on labels and tags
  • Organizing and securing loading materials such as corrugate boxes, customer products, machinery, pallets, etc. onto trailers
  • Occasionally loading or unloading materials/product off and/or on to pallets, racking, skids, or lifting devices
  • Operate industrial trucks equipped to move trailers around warehouse and yard.
  • Moving trailers in/out of the dock to load/unload freight
  • Completing trailer inspections to ensure free from foreign objects, insects, and holes in trailer/trailer floor.
  • Filling out the required paperwork to ensure proper loading/unloading of customer freight.
  • Are responsible to throw away any trash accumulated in the transloading processes.
  • This includes plastic wrap, plastic/ steel strapping, extra carton used for securing loads.
  • Once a week, forklift operators are designated an area of the warehouse to sweep up accumulated dirt and or pick up any trash accumulated inside the building.

What makes you a strong candidate for this position?  v

  • High School Diploma / GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read labels, numbers.
  • Ability to operate in moderate speed and fast-paced environment.
  • Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply)
  • Excellent teamwork skills and ability to follow instructions.
  • Forklift Certification preferred.
