Job Description

Forklift Operator is responsible for operating Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) equipment for the purpose of moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting products/materials.

1st Shift: 7:00AM - 3:00PM, Monday-Friday

Responsibilities

  • Unloads inbound shipments safely and moves product to appropriate locations.
  • Stacks and stores products in designated areas using a forklift, push-pull, or other powered equipment.
  • Pulls and prepares products for shipment by ensuring the exact number and type of product is loaded.
  • Moves product from staging and/or storage areas into trailers and the production floor.
  • Operates all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following the established warehouse safety standards/regulations.
  • Immediately report any incidents or accidents involving PIT equipment to a Supervisor/Manager.
  • Maintains appropriate records and reports to guarantee inventory control and security.
  • Assists in physical inventories.
  • Ensures proper stock rotation.
  • May require performing picking duties in an efficient manner.
  • All other duties assigned, based on the business the warehouse supports.

Required Skills and Experience

  • At least 1 years’ experience and/or using warehouse distribution equipment.
  • Maintain compliance with CTDI's PIT certification requirements.
  • Thoroughness and attention to detail in task completion.
  • Basic knowledge of computers and MS Office (Excel, and Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience working in a high-volume distribution, manufacturing, technical service (i.e. testing and repair) or forward logistics operation a plus
  • Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff
  • Time-management skills
  • Written and verbal communication skills

Educational Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

  • Warehouse environment
  • The ability to lift, push and/or pull up to 50 lbs., if necessary
  • The ability to stand and walk for an extended period of time, if necessary
  • The ability to bend, push, pull, twist, and reach in a continuous/repetitive capacity, if necessary
