Key Responsibilities May Include:

Material Handling & Forklift Operation:

  • Operate the forklift to efficiently move pallets, containers, and materials throughout the plant facility.
  • Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus. Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets and transports load to designated area.
  • Conduct inspection of the forklift prior to operating, promptly reporting issues to maintenance team for resolution.

Loading and Unloading:

  • Assist in loading and unloading trucks or containers with pallets or materials using the forklift, ensuring proper placement and securement of items.
  • Lift and carry up to 65lbs
  • Push items with a maximum force of 34 lbs./feet.
  • Pull items with a maximum force of 34 lbs./feet

Safety and Compliance:

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery.
  • Maintain awareness of pedestrian and vehicle traffic in the work area
  • Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment daily ·
  • Report any safety hazards or concerns to supervisors immediately.

Role Scope and Work Environment

The Forklift Operator is responsible for supporting overnight production operations in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment This role involves continuous material movement to maintain workflow efficiency, including supplying broken pallet stock to automated repair systems and removing finished product. The operator must work independently while maintaining coordination with production teams to ensure smooth, uninterrupted operations throughout the shift.

Schedule, Travel, and Language Requirements

  • Shift: 3rd Shift, 11:30 PM – 7:00 AM
  • Travel: No travel required
  • Languages: English required; additional languages are not required but can support team communication in a diverse workforce

Key Responsibilities and Focus (First 12 Months)

During the first year, the Forklift Operator will focus on:

  • Safely loading automated roller systems with incoming broken stock for repair
  • Efficiently removing completed product from automated rollers to designated staging areas
  • Maintaining consistent material flow to prevent production downtime
  • Adhering to and reinforcing strict safety protocols in a high-traffic equipment environment
  • Building familiarity with facility layout, workflow patterns, and production pacing expectations
  • Supporting team efficiency by maintaining organization and proper material handling practices

Equipment and Technical Requirements

  • Experience operating forklifts in an industrial or warehouse setting preferred
  • Ability to operate both electric and propane-powered forklifts
  • Strong awareness of safety procedures, including equipment inspections and hazard recognition
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced production environment
  • Basic communication and organizational skills to coordinate with production teams

This position plays a critical role in keeping production running smoothly overnight. Success requires reliability, attention to safety, and the ability to maintain steady performance in a physically active environment. Operators are expected to be highly engaged, proactive in identifying workflow issues, and committed to maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
