Position Scope

Forklift Operator is responsible for operating forklift equipment in the loading and unloading of tile and other shipment materials while adhering to established safety procedures.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Work safely and help maintain a safe work environment
  • Responsible for loading trucks with the proper tile color and profile, in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for unloading inner company transfer trucks, as well as assistance with unloading other shipment materials, in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for properly completing all shipping and receiving documents. Recording pick sheets/slip changes with product loaded.
  • Assistance in maintaining accurate inventory levels; Documenting all scrap material
  • Involved in Yearly/Monthly inventory counting/reconciliation.
  • Loader is responsible for reviewing all product loads to assure product being shipped meets quality Boral specification (Zero Breakage)
  • Responsible for following all safety and environmental protection rules and procedures.
  • Must present him/herself in a professional manner to internal/external customers, always.
  • Adhere to all housekeeping rules and procedures for yard and forklift.
  • Responsible for completing Forklift Check Sheet, daily.
  • Perform other duties as directed

JOB-RELATED QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

Education

  • High School Diploma preferred

Knowledge/Skills

  • Basic math
  • Typing: 40 wpm suggested.
  • SAP enterprise software and Microsoft Office highly desirable
  • Good communication skills
  • Team player, reliable and high work ethic

Work Experience

  • One year of related experience

Licenses or Certificates

  • Forklift Certification

Physical Demands

  • General Office Activities - Walking, Standing, Sitting, Talking, Typing, and etc.
  • Driving
  • Lifting heavy materials, up to 50lbs
  • Walk, stand, sit, climb
  • Maintaining a safe and orderly work environment for self and others
