Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

Shipping

· Prior to using equipment, performs operations and safety check and signs off on daily equipment check list certifying everything is in good operating condition.

· Prepare orders for shipment in accordance with the pick ticket and customer requirements.

· Check inventory to verify availability of needed stock.

· Notify the Supervisor of shortages.

· Prepare labels for shipment in accordance with the work order and customer requirements.

· Package and ship in accordance with packaging guidelines and accepted methods/practices.

· Maintain/organize work area for safety and efficiency.

· Stock racks in the warehouse.

· Monitor packaging material supplies and notify the Supervisor when materials get to the restocking point.

· Organize pick tickets/BOLs and double check shipments before loading.

· Assists other employees when needed with loading, lifting, and searching for freight.

· Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with other employees and supervisors.

· Assists customers and drivers when they come to the dock to pick up freight.

· Receiving

· Receive and unload incoming material and compare information on packing slips with purchase orders to verify accuracy of shipment.

· Sort, count, package, label, and put away inventory that is received.

· Inspect shipments for damages, loss, or defects, and notify management of findings.

· Responsible for accurately receiving, reporting, and distributing purchased items.

· Stock racks in the warehouse.

· Operate pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading material and equipment.

· Operate stretch-wrap machines.

Receiving

Job Requirements:

Education: High School or above

Experience:

· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents written in English.

· Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, auditors, and customers and others.

· Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as weights being loaded.

· Must have the ability to operate a forklift.

· Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate forklift operators certification.

· Must be able to operate a non-motorized pallet jack.

· Must have good housekeeping skills.
