Job Description

POSITION: Forklift Operator

DEPARTMENT: Maintenance / Site Logistics
EMPLOYMENT TYPE:
FTC on Rolls / Work Visa
DUTY HOURS: 8 Hours per Day | 6 Days per Week
LOCATION As per Project / Site Requirement
SALARY: As per Company Policy


The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts and other material handling equipment to support maintenance and site operations. The role involves transporting, loading, unloading, and stacking materials while ensuring compliance with safety procedures, operational standards, and housekeeping requirements in industrial environments.

Requirements

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Forklift Operation & Material Handling
    • Operate forklifts safely to transport materials, tools, equipment, and spare parts within the plant or site.
    • Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, storage areas, and workshops efficiently and safely.
    • Ensure correct handling of materials to prevent damage or accidents.

  2. Equipment Inspection & Maintenance Support
    • Conduct pre-start and routine inspections of forklifts before operation.
    • Identify and report any mechanical issues, defects, or safety concerns to supervisors.
    • Ensure forklifts are operated within rated load capacities and safety limits.

  3. Safety & Compliance
    • Follow all site HSE procedures, Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems, and safety instructions.
    • Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
    • Maintain alertness to site hazards, pedestrian movement, and equipment traffic.

  4. Storage & Housekeeping
    • Ensure proper stacking, storage, and labeling of materials in designated areas.
    • Maintain cleanliness and good housekeeping in storage yards, warehouses, and work areas.
    • Assist in maintaining organized and safe material storage locations.

  5. Documentation & Coordination
    • Assist with inventory checks, material movement records, and documentation when required.
    • Coordinate with maintenance teams, supervisors, and storekeepers for timely material delivery.
    • Support shutdown, turnaround, and emergency maintenance activities as required.
