Job Description

This job is responsible for operating material handling equipment in a safe manner for the purpose of moving, locating, stacking and counting merchandise.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensures proper handling of product while transporting it to packaging and cold or dry storage
• Ensures that product is properly moved in or out of the freezer to the proper location.
• Ensures proper procedures are followed when loading trucks and rail cars.
• Ensures proper unloading and cataloging procedures are followed when receiving shippable and dry storage product.
• Ensures proper safety and inspection procedures are followed when handling bulk product.
• Ensures all paperwork, forms, reports, and computer data entry are completed and submitted in an accurate and timely manner.
• Ensures operating equipment used for shipping, receiving, and transporting product is thoroughly inspected prior to use and is operated in a safe and efficient manner including slip sheeters.
• Ensures attendance and participation in training activities appropriate to the position and to incorporate acquired skills and knowledge.
• Ensures clean-up duties are performed in a manner necessary to meet Company standards.

Typical Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Relevant Experience

1+ years related experience and/or training

Other Information

Ability to safely operate a forklift, loading and unloading trucks, and high stacking totes.
