Right now our Gig Harbor, WA store is seeking a Full Time Retail Forklift Driver!

Hourly: $17.13 per hour

The Forklift Driver is responsible for safe and effective forklift operation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Forklift Driver responsibilities include the following and other duties as assigned:

  • Operates forklift to load and unload product onto trailers and trucks
  • Stacks items onto pallets of various heights
  • Receives and distributes products using a forklift
  • Assists the production department

Follow Safety Guidelines

Maintain forklift safety standards set by Goodwill.

Record Keeping

Maintains receiving and delivery logs with integrity and accuracy.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements:

  • This position requires the passing of a drug screen.
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1-3 months of related experience and/or training.
  • Exceptional analytical, judgment, decision-making and communications skills
  • Superior coaching, leadership and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build understanding and consensus

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Language Skills: Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and average.

Computer Skills: Ability to navigate through multiple program screens and easily use a computer, keyboard, mouse, 10-key and touchscreen.

Other Skills and Abilities: Comprehensive understanding of all aspects of a Forklift Driver.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must pass JJ Keller Forklift certification test with 80% or higher. Certification includes in-house training along with a verbal test conducted by a Goodwill Certifier.

Other Qualifications: Self-motivated; resourceful, creative; high integrity; problem solver; looks to resolve issues; positive can-do approach; and ability to build effective working relationships.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Will constantly lift 1-15 pounds, frequently lift 15-20 pounds, and occasionally up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
